Exploring the World of Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is an ancient grape. Native to Burgundy, France,
the cultivation of Pinot Noir and it’s use in winemaking dates
to the days of Roman occupation in the first centuries of the Common Era.
This classic grape is both difficult to grow and difficult to vinify into wine,
but the results are often spectacular. According to Wine Folly, half of the
fifty most expensive wines on wine-searcher are Pinot Noirs.
Our tasting will include four wines which highlight the diversity of Pinot Noir styles:
Clarice Wine Company - Santa Lucia Highlands, California
Domaine Joseph Voillot - Volnay, France
Mt. Beautiful - North Canterbury, New Zealand
Van Duzer - Willamette Valley, Oregon
